Saturday morning is starting quiet for most. However, showers will start to expand across the state as the day presses on. Some mountain snow is already developing over the San Juans of Colorado and west facing slopes of the Northern Mountains. Through the morning hours, that activity will expand across western New Mexico.
As showers approach central sections, including the Albuquerque metro, winds will start to pick up. Valley rain will develop during the late afternoon and evening. The East Mountains will start off with mixed precip, eventually changing over to snow tonight.
Showers will continue for the metro through Sunday morning. Meanwhile a cold front will bank against the east facing slopes of the Northern Mountains. This will enhance snowfall on the east slopes as the storm exits late Sunday.
The workweek will feature quieter weather. However the occasional storm will deliver rounds of wind to the state throughout the week.
