Major winter storm moving in

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A major winter storm is closing in on new mexico.

There are watches, warnings, and advisories all across the state.

The storm is moving in from the west coast. Rain and snow is falling across California and moving our way. The storm will weaken as it moves across Arizona, but it should still have plenty of juice to work with.

Winter storm warnings have been issued for southwestern Colorado, the San Juan Mountains, and across New Mexico’s northern mountains as well. Up to a foot of snow could fall in those areas, and maybe much more than that.

Winter storm watches have been issued for the west central mountains and the western high terrain, as well as the East Mountains and the Monzanos.

Down across New Mexico’s southern mountains, winter weather advisories are in place.

In the metro, it will be a little too warm for snow, but the area should see some rain.
