Cowboys player shares nutrition knowlege

Cowboys player teaches kids about nutrition

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Former UNM football star and current Dallas Cowboy Ryan Cook was back in Albuquerque on Friday to teach school kids about the importance of eating healthy.

The It Starts with School Breakfast campaign encourages kids to begin their day by getting a healthy breakfast at school.

“I’m having a great time with these kids. I think it’s great for them,” said Cook. ‘They get really excited. They want to meet someone who plays professional football and I’m glad that I’m able to come here and talk with them. And also being from this area makes a great bit of difference.”

National School Breakfast Week is March 3-7.

Kids were encouraged to wear their slippers to the event and  run through a banner they created. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
