Compensation in 2013 for New Mexico lawmakers

SANTA FE (KRQE) – New Mexico’s legislators averaged a little more than $16,000 in compensation each last year

The Department of Finance turned over the records following a public records request by the associated press.

New Mexico’s legislature is a part-time gig.

While lawmakers have full time, outside jobs, they get a daily expense payment called a per diem during the session or when traveling and going to meetings.

At the top of the list, Senator John Pinto, a democrat from Gallup, he earned $27,463.

At the bottom of the list Representative Vickie Perea, a republican from Belen was paid, $1,590.
