Mom faces charges after 9-year-old son found

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The 9-year-old Albuquerque boy who was reported missing Wednesday has been found and his mother is now in jail.

Emanuelle Duran is charged with child abuse.

Police say Wednesday Duran reported that her son Aleais had run away after an argument over food.

According to court documents, police say that Duran seemed very un-panicked.

The boy was found about three hours later at the McDonald’s on I-25 and Montano, six miles from his home.

Police say Aleais has a history of running away and has missed 17 of the last 100 days of school, something his mother could be prosecuted for.

In December KRQE News 13 aired story about Duran’s consignment shop in Nob Hill being broken into.
