Arson house fire caused $60K in damage

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – New details have been released in the case of a suspect accused of setting a person’s home on fire.

Albuquerque police say Michael Tyner, 31, caused more than $60,000 in damage.

It happened Wednesday at a home near Unser and Ladera. APD says for some reason, Tyner knocked on Ernesto Lean’s home. When he wasn’t allowed inside, Tyner allegedly broke in and set an upstairs bedroom on fire.

The victim was able to escape and called for help.

Tyner was arrested and charged with burglary and arson.

Detectives still don’t know why he targeted that home.
