Ticking clock causes school evacuation

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – An elementary school in Farmington was evacuated Wednesday morning because of a suspicious device.

Just before 8:30 a.m., officers responded to Northeast Elementary after the principal called saying something was ticking outside of the school.

Students were evacuated to Hermosa Middle School.

The bomb squad later determined the device was a clock, and was not a threat.
