Near head-on collision closes Coors

KRQE News 13 Breaking News, Albuquerque NM

A near head-on collision prompted the shutdown of southbound Coors at Tower early Wednesday morning.

According to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department, emergency crews responded to the wreck at 8:00 a.m. after a Red Lincoln Navigator traveling east on Tower made a left turn in front of a Toyota Camry traveling west on Coors causing the collision.

No serious injuries were reported, however, the occupants of the Camry were transported to local hospitals for evaluation. The occupants of the Navigator were evaluated and released at the scene, BCSD said.

BCSD said drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Southbound Coors has since been reopened.
