Drug investigation leads to 28 arrests

SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Twenty-nine people have been charged for drug trafficking charges – 28 from San Juan County, and one from Mesa, Ariz. – after a multi-agency investigation took place in northwestern New Mexico.

Twenty-six of the those charged were arrested Wednesday morning, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice. Two others were arrested during the investigation. The last individual is on the run, according to the release.

The investigation which took a year to complete, led officers to five pounds of meth and five firearms.
