RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Two of the people involved in a high-speed chase and shoot-out earlier in February have been hit with more than a dozen charges that could put them away for a very long time.
Police say Patrick Moran and Patricia Baca were in the car that led police on the 40-mile chase from Rio Rancho to the Jemez Pueblo.
It started when officers say a man tried to rob someone at gunpoint at an ATM near Southern and Country Club.
Officers say the couple shot at officers throughout the chase.
They returned fire hitting the third suspect, Kevein Ngyuen, 29, in the hand.
A grand jury indicted Moran and Baca on 14 counts including aggravated assault on a peace officer.
Baca is also charged with child abuse for allegedly trying to carjack a teenager after the chase ended.
Ngyuen has not been charged.
