Candy Lady to relocate this week

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Time is almost up for the Candy Lady.

Debbie Ball is moving out of her current Old Town spot to a new location.

The Candy Lady had been at Mountain and Rio Grande for 30 years until she lost her battle with her landlord over a rental agreement.

She must be out by this Friday, but she’s staying in Old Town.

Ball has found a new store to move into at San Felipe and Charlevoix, only a block away from where she is now.

“You know, it’s sad, but it’s a whole new beginning and it’s a new page in my life and I have to believe it’s for the best,” said Ball.

Ball says the old store will be closed for about a day and a half while everything is cleaned and moved into the new location which is expected to be open immediately after that. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
