Sex offender charged with stalking ex

SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A registered sex offender in San Juan County has now been charged with stalking.

In November, Stephen Freeman was arrested for chasing his ex-girlfriend and ramming her off the road.

He was later released under the condition he couldn’t contact the victim.

But a month later, authorities say he was sending her threatening text messages.

Freeman was found during a traffic stop and is charged with aggravated stalking.

Freeman was convicted in 2003 of criminal sexual contact of a minor. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
