John’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Much of this week looks to be uneventful with only small changes for a few areas. Today will feature lots of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs in Albuquerque will reach the mid 60s. The warmest temps will be in the southeast where highs will reach the mid to high 70s. Temps across the east will cool down by 15° – 20° for Tuesday as a cold front sweeps in. The front will make it to central areas by Wednesday, but will lose much of its punch. Only expect as much as a 5° cool down in Albuquerque.

A storm will pass to the north on Thursday. A few spot snow showers will be possible over the Northern Mountains, but much of the state will only see wind. The storm will clear Friday, then all attention moves to the weekend. There is still disagreement in the models on exact track and strength, but we may actually see a storm dive into New Mexico. This would effectively bring winter back to New Mexico as temperatures drop, and valley rain and mountain snow returns. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
