Bairstow Player of the Week X2

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – When asked about awards, UNM forward Cameron Bairstow said it’s not really something he is giving much thought. Bairstow said he was more focused on helping his defending Mountain West Champion Lobos win another conference title.

His work over the weekend has earned him Mountain West and National Player of the Week honors.

Bairstow averaged 22 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3 blocks while leading the Lobos to nationally-televised victories over UNLV and then 6th-ranked San Diego State.

Bairstow is on national watch lists for the Wooden Award and the Naismith Award.

After doubling his production from last season, he is the Mountain West leading scorer. Bairstow averages 20.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
