NM soldier injured in training exercise

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A New Mexico soldier is among those injured during a training exercise at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

The Army Post says there was a blast Saturday during an artillery live-fire training.

Army Private First Class James Groth, from Washington State, died.

Authorities say two other cannon crew members are still in the hospital, including 25-year-old Sergeant Jason Muzzy of Pecos, New Mexico.

The Army is investigating what went wrong.
