Officer honored after Navy Shootout

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Washington D.C. police department honored its officers. Some who took bullets while trying to stop a shooter at a Navy yard.

 

Scott Williams was among those officers honored.

 

He led the initial active shooter teams into the navy yard in September and was shot multiple times in both legs.

 

Last night he took the opportunity to give thanks to his comrades and community for their love and support.

 

The shooter killed twelve people before an officer shot and killed him.

 

Federal investigators say the shooter was mentally ill.
