ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A multi-county heroin trafficking ring has been taken down by NM state police.
Investigators say the ring was operating in Bernalillo, Valencia, Sandoval, and Rio Arriba counties.
Five people were arrested, and four and half pounds of heroin worth about 72-thousand dollars was seized.
Police also found more than 12-thousand in cash and an Ar-15 assault rifle.
That rifle was stolen from a state police car in Albuquerque back in December.
We’re told the suspects were dealing heroin out of several metro area homes and apartments.
In at least one case it was sold where several young children were living.
