Mark’s Friday Evening Forecast

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The dry westerly flow will continue across New Mexico over the next several days. This will lead to moderating temps and very high fire danger. Highs Saturday will top out in the low 60s with gusty winds over eastern New Mexico. Sunday will be a couple degrees warmer with a few more clouds.

In to next week, the big story will be two-fold. A cold front will sweep across the state on Wednesday knocking temps down 20°+. Then a series of storms will take aim in the southwest. Now, this sounds good, but there is a real possibility that these systems will be quite weak. If they are, they will likely boost winds more than deliver precipitation. However long term forecasts are beginning to show more promising trends. Check out the 8-14 day outlook. The west could start to turn things around.
