Illegal auto repair shop problem continues

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – We have an update to a special assignment report.

Last summer, Kim Holland exposed a foul-mouthed teenager running an illegal auto repair shop at his family’s home in a Taylor Ranch residential neighborhood.

Neighbors complained there were so many cars, car parts and oil stains that the place looked like a junkyard.

The Safe City Strike Force ordered Robert Gibson and his father, Robert Sr., to cut it out and cited them for being a nuisance. And, for months, it did stop.

But the city says the teen has been at it again, so they have cited the father again and ordered him to appear in court. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
