Social media fight leads to stabbing

BAYARD, N.M. (KRQE) – An argument that started on social media resulted in one New Mexico teenager stabbing another.

Bayard police say the two girls had been making threatening tweets to each other for sometime.

Then this weekend, one girl made good on her threats and stabbed the victim.

Police say the victim suffered three to four stab wounds on her hand and abdomen. None of the injuries are life threatening.

The accused stabber has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She is at a juvenile detention center.

The names of the girls have not been released because they are juveniles.
