ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – You could argue that their last two games have been their best.

Craig Neal’s Lobos took their dominating play to Las Vegas on Wednesday night and turned away a UNLV team that was hopeful to make a climb in the Mountain West.

Lobos guard Kendall Williams scored 29 points in the 68 to 56 win while conference leading scorer Cameron Bairstow scored 18 points.

The Lobos also got good contributions off the bench with some of their veteran players in foul trouble down the stretch.

Coach Neal said his team still had a lot of room for improvement and had not reached its peak, nor does he want them to do so at the time. Neal is hoping that happens closer to NCAA Tournament time.

On Saturday at a sold-out Pit in Albuquerque, the Lobos will get a chance to catch the San Diego State Aztecs on top of the Mountain West Conference. The Lobos are back to back champions and need a win to catch the Aztecs.
