ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Firefighters are battling two fires in Valencia County Wednesday.
The Crawford Fire is 5 acres, located on the East Mesa, near the Conejo Transfer Station. Earlier Wednesday, the fire threatened structures. No evacuations have been ordered and the structures are now safe from the flames.
A helicopter and other resources are helping to slow the fire which is 75 percent contained.
Officials say another fire has been reported at River Road and Highway 47, in the Rio Communities area east of Belen.
Crews have been able to keep the fire at two acres and are mopping up hot spots. That fire is 100 percent contained.
