ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Firefighters are keeping an eye on a fire in the bosque on the Isleta Pueblo south of Albuquerque. Isleta Pueblo Police said this morning the fire is contained but it is not out, and no roads are closed because of the fire. As of last night, the fire had burned at least 30 acres, and was being battled by a crew of about 50.
Investigators are still trying to figure out what started a brush fire near Belen Sunday near Maestas Road and the railroad tracks.
The fire did not burn any buildings or homes.

Cops or no Cops? That’s the debate in the Metro area. Last week the Bernalillo County Sheriff announced the TV show is going to shoot here to highlight good deputies and how they work with the community. Albuquerque’s Mayor doesn’t like it, he wasn’t to cast the City in a more positive light. Now, two Bernalillo County Commmissioners, Debbie O’Malley and Maggie Hart Stebbins say they don’t like the plan either and want Sheriff Dan Houston to reconsider.
