RIO RANCHO (KRQE) – A Rio Rancho shooting that sent three people to the hospital Saturday is now a murder case.

One of the victims has died, and another man is facing charges.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon in the enchanted hills subdivision just off Highway 550.  Rio Rancho police tell us they’ve made an arrest, but they haven’t said yet if the man facing charges is one of the three people sent to the hospital yesterday.

Police say two people were shot Saturday afternoon. A man and a woman and another man had been beaten.

Rio Rancho PD announced the male gunshot victim died at the hospital.

As of now, police are not releasing the names of anyone involved.

The woman who was involved is in stable condition.

The man arrested is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a stolen firearm.

We spoke to one neighbor yesterday who says he came face to face with the gunman and that he even asked for his help reloading his gun.

Police say the case is still active and they’re still investigating the events that led to the shooting. Police have not said how these three people know each other. They are working on notifying the family of the man who died.
