Treasurer’s Office thief went after valuables

Treasurer's Office thief went after valuables

SANTA FE (KRQE) – The state Treasurer’s Office has now compiled a list of everything stolen during a Monday morning break-in, and it looks like the thief wasn’t after private information – just valuables.

The thieves busted down doors to get to items like cash and credit cards, a camera, gold coins and jewelry. One computer was taken.

The office isn’t saying what was on that computer but the treasurer says there haven’t been any security breaches and they have taken steps to protect the information.

Police did arrest the alleged thief, James Montoya, on Wednesday.

Police are also investigating whether Montoya had anything to do with a break in at a neighboring doctors office.
