Former PRC member in jail again

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Jerome Block Jr., the troubled former member of the PRC, is back behind bars for drugs.

Block was hauled off to jail last week for violating his probation. The Albuquerque Journal reports he failed a drug test.

Block was convicted almost two years ago of stealing on the job while he was on the PRC. He used his state-issued credit card to buy gas for people to support a prescription painkiller habit.

He also pocketed thousands of dollars in public campaign money while he was running for the PRC in 2008.

No word yet on how long Block will stay in jail this time around. His attorney told the Journal that Block needs to get out because he has leukemia and needs daily chemo. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
