Pro’s Ranch sold, will stay open

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The financially-troubled grocery chain Pro’s Ranch Markets has been sold.

Two retailers in southern California have reached a $55 million deal to buy the company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last May.

The family-owned chain is popular with Latino customers and has 11 stores in the southwest, including one in Albuquerque and one in Las Cruces.

Cardenas Northgate Group Ranch, which is buying Pro’s Ranch, says the stores will remain open.
