Parade held for girl injured in crash

BELEN, N.M. (KRQE) – A parade was held in Belen on Friday to welcome home 11-year-old Magan Sanchez.

She was seriously injured when suspected drunk driver Jacob Williams crashed into the motorcycle she and her father were on.

Her dad, 51-year-old Daniel Sanchez, died.

On Friday, residents lined up along the side of the road holding signs and banners to welcome Magen home from the hospital.

“She’s my best friend as she’s creative and athletic and she’s just an amazing girl,” said Madison Hill.

While in the hospital, Magen said she was feeling great and healing quickly.

She suffered a severe leg break that required several surgeries. Her dad was buried last weekend.
