Murder trial focuses on gun casings

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Prosecutors in the Ronald Santiago trial are making sure jurors keep hearing about the physical evidence.

Santiago was tied to the murder of his clients Greg and Bernadette Ohlemacher because a bullet casing found in his home matched the ones found in the couple’s home the day they were shot to death in 2005.

On Thursday, another officer took the stand testifying the casings came from the same gun.

Santiago’s attorneys have challenged the physical evidence and accuse police of botching the investigation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
