After a quick break this morning, winter weather returns with another storm this afternoon.
Like yesterday’s storm, this one will be a quick mover, impacting the state through Friday morning. The best chances of snow will be over the west central high terrain and northern mountains. The west central mountains could pick up 3″ – 6″ while the northern mountains are looking at up to a foot at the higher peaks. Lower elevations in the northwest quadrant of the state, including Albuquerque, could see another inch or two.
Temperatures remain cold this afternoon across the entire state with the coldest readings in the eastern plains. After the storm clears Friday morning, temperatures will start to moderate into the weekend. Another storm will impact the state late Monday into Tuesday. Then the weather goes quiet for the second half of next week.
