CNM competes in recycling contest

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – There’s something new at CNM: Green recycle bins.

They were distributed to all CNM campuses earlier this week as part of a contest called Recycle Mania.

CNM is competing against 600 other schools in the U.S. and Canada.

Each week for the next two months, the collected items will be weighed and reported, then compared with the other schools.

CNM officials say the contest is just the beginning of a much larger effort to make the school more environmentally friendly. Solar panels have already been installed at its different campuses.

The grand prize for the competition will be a trophy made of recycled materials.
