John’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

Albuquerque will continue to see snow through the afternoon and into the early evening. Winter Storm Warnings extend from the Jemez Mountians, through the Rio Grande Valley, and into the norther portions of the Gila. That includes the city of Albuquerque. Winter Weather Advisories are also up for other parts of the state.

The disturbance bringing the snow will continue to cross the state today through tonight and into early Thursday. However, an east canyon wind will start to hinder the snowfall, especially on the east side of the city. By Thursday morning, most of the snow will have lifted out with the exception of some lingering snow in the higher terrain.

Another storm will follow on the heels of this one for Thursday night into Friday morning. This storm will again favor the higher terrain, but some light snow will still be possible for some of the lower elevations. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
