At long last, much-needed precipitation arrives in New Mexico, which is liable to slow your commute this morning, check for school closings and delays.

A task force looking at Albuquerque Police wants to create a more independent citizen’s police oversight agency, with access to internal affairs files, the ability to subpoena records, and the authority to recommend punishment of officers. The police union says the task force is bias.

Albuquerque firefighters got a show of support from the City Council which unanimously approved a 2.5% pay hike for AFD, the first in five years.

A racist word was written on a note to the student. That student has now moved out of the dorms. UNM says it knows who did it, but the school isn’t disclosing what punishment, if any, was issued. UNM Is holding a talk about racism on campus during meeting Thursday
