Woman stabbed 20 times in ABQ apartment

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police say a woman was almost killed because she kept complaining about her loud neighbors.

Police say the woman was stabbed more than 20 times just after 5 a.m. Sunday at an apartment complex on Montgomery near Carlisle.

Police say Alyssa Romero and William Gallegos lived below the woman. They say the pair busted down their neighbor’s door and started stabbing the woman.

When the attackers took off, the victim went to another neighbor for help.

“I asked her what happened and she said she was stabbed 5,6,7,8, 9,10 times. She said it just like that. She didn’t know how many times,” said neighbor Darci Roberts. “And she said, ‘I’m dying,’ and she totally remembered her blood type because she was so scared she was going to die.”

Roberts says the couple always has their stereo on too loud and are known to cause problems.

Police say the couple also stole the victim’s laptop and $500 of her rent money. The woman’s condition is unknown.

Romero and Gallegos were arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder.
