Former Lobo involved in fatal crash

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A former Lobo basketball player was involved in a deadly crash over the weekend.

According to the Odessa American newspaper, A.J. Hardeman, 25, fell asleep while driving on I-10 in Odessa, Texas, on Saturday morning, causing him to swerve and hit a guard rail.

His passenger, Adrianna Gatt, 23, of Albuquerque, was thrown from the car and died at the scene.

Hardeman and his 2-year-old daughter, who was also in the car, were taken to the hospital and later released.

Hardeman played forward for the Lobos from 2008 to 2012.
