APD quickly recovers stolen goods

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police are investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries that targeted out-of-town visitors.

According to APD, at least 21 vehicles parked at hotels along I-25 were broken into during the early morning hours on Saturday. Police say the burglars lifted everything, including luggage and electronics, but a lot of the stolen goods were located a short time later in a vacant lot.

Police were able to return belongings to the rightful owners, including a family from Arkansas that was staying in town for the night.

A stolen SUV was also recovered at an Albuquerque hotel, and police say the suspects left prints behind. They’re now reviewing surveillance video.
