ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Testimony in the Ronald Santiago trial was all about the crime scene Friday.
Santiago, a former mortgage loan processor is accused of shooting Greg and Bernadette Ohlemacher in their northwest Albuquerque home in 2005.
The first officers to arrive at the scene that day took the stand. They described finding the couple shot to death in their master bedroom and finding the door to the balcony open with a ladder propped up against it.
They also testified that they had to pepper spray the family’s dog because it was barking a lot when they entered.
The couple’s daughter, the only other person in the home that day, testified earlier in the trial that she was afraid the dog had been shot because she didn’t hear it barking when she heard gunshots.
