Snow and wind will be the big stories as we wrap up the workweek. The highest winds this afternoon will once again be just east of the central mountain chain. High Wind Warnings are in place along and east of the mountains for gusts up to 65 mph. Much of the rest of the state is under Wind Advisories for gusts up to 50 mph.
Winter Storm Warnings are up for the San Juans of Colorado through Saturday morning where 12″ – 18″ is expected. Winter Storm Warnings are also in effect for the San Juans of New Mexico, Jemez Mountains, and west facing slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains where around a foot of snow is possible. Winter Weather Advisories are in place over the Northwest, extending down to Gallup where 2″ – 4″ is possible. Winter Weather Advisories are also up for the east facing slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains for 3″ – 5″.
Another storm will move in late Saturday to continue snowfall across the north.
