APS graduation rates improve

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The New Mexico Public Education Department released graduation rates Friday.

Overall, the rates statewide stayed the same, but APS improved.

The statewide graduation rate for the class of 2013 was 70.3 percent which is the same as the class of 2012.

According to the state, APS rates went up more than three points from 65 percent in 2012 to 68.7 percent.

But APS calculates its rates differently by not including charter schools, so it says its rate is actually more than 73 percent.
