Child abuse case to be reopened

Child abuse case to be reopened

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – State Police Chief Pete Kassetas says a criminal child abuse case against a former state worker fell between the cracks.

Eddie Aragon Jr. is one of several state workers accused in a civil lawsuit of abusing kids at a state run juvenile facility in Las Cruces.

Aragon had been arrested and charged in a child abuse case in 2012 but it never moved forward.

The district attorney told the Albuquerque Journal it’s because they never got all the required information from state police.

Chief Kassettas says they’re now working to get that documentation so the case can proceed.

The case is now being reopened. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
