KRQE News 13 Breaking News, Albuquerque NM

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe police are warning the public about a scheme that threatens people with warrants that don’t exist.

Police say a suspect giving the name Charles Martin or Charles Martinez is calling people saying he’s a detective with the Santa Fe Police Department and tells them they have warrants out for their arrest. He then says the person can clear the warrant with payment over the phone.

Those who receive these calls are asked to call police.
