LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (KRQE) – It appears the Pajarito Mountain ski area in Los Alamos could be in danger of closing.
County officials say they were contacted last week by the ski area’s board of directors to see if the county was interested in taking over operations because of their financial situation.
A lack of snow in recent years has kept the mountain closed most of the season.
The board will decide if taking over the ski area is in the county’s best financial interests.
They’ll talk about the issue during their upcoming meeting on Feb. 4.
