Mule deer to be relocated

SILVER CITY, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico wildlife officials plan Tuesday to capture and relocate mule deer from the Silver City area.

Residents in the area have been concerned the high deer population is damaging the landscape and presenting a danger for drivers.

Game and Fish officials hope to capture at least 100 deer. They’ll be released farther south near the Arizona/New Mexico border. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
