Dog injured by gunfire recovers

LA CIENEGA, N.M. (KRQE) – The dog found shot last week in La Cienega is recovering after having surgery.

Vets say one of the bullets fractured her leg.

Some people spotted the injured dog and got her some help.

Santa Fe Animal Control says the 18-month-old heeler had been shot twice. She’s recovering at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter where she’s expected to make a full recovery.

Santa Fe County deputies are still looking the shooter.
