Stabbing not the random attack first reported

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police say a stabbing near Central and Pennsylvania Saturday night wasn’t the random attack the victim first reported to 911 operators.

According to the criminal complaint, both the victim and the victim’s mother told police he’d been walking home from the store when he was stabbed.

The mother later told police her husband, the victim’s stepfather, was responsible.

Benson Ration, 61, is facing numerous charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police say the victim received five stab wounds but is now in stable condition. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
