Halfway house embezzler heads to prison

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The former executive of an Albuquerque halfway house who embezzled more than $200,000 has been sentenced to two years in federal prison.

Between 2008 and 2011, Robin Cash was pocketing money from the La Psada Halfway House. That’s where criminals are housed as part of their probation and parole.

Authorities say Cash spent some of the embezzled money at Las Vegas casinos.

As part of her sentence, Cash must pay back the money and more than $66,000 in back taxes.

She had faced up to 43 years in prison.
