NM confirms 3 more flu deaths

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Three more people have died from the flu in New Mexico.

The Department of Health says two of them were in Bernalillo County, one a 79-year-old man, the other a 73-year-old man.

The third death was of a 45-year-old man from Rio Arriba County.

The first flu death of the year was earlier this month of a 76-year-old woman in Santa Fe County.

Health officials say the predominant strain this hear is H1N1 which is infecting more younger people.

Most of those infected are between the ages of 18 and 65.
