Speed a factor in crash that killed airmen

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Alamogordo police say speed appears to be a factor in a crash that killed three airmen from Holloman Air Force Base.

The identities of those killed have not been released.

Police say a city worker spotted the wreck in the desert  off airport road after dawn Tuesday, but it appears the accident happened hours earlier.

A Holloman spokesman says the victims were assigned to the 49th wing. They included one instructor and two students with the wing’s remotely piloted aircraft squadron.
