ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A Corrales police officer seriously injured in a crash Tuesday remains in serious condition, but is in good spirits according to fellow officers.

Officer Jeremy Romero was pursuing a stolen vehicle Tuesday morning when he hand the suspect crashed.

Corrales police say Romero underwent surgery Tuesday to repair damage to his spine. He is expected to recover.

Meanwhile the search for the suspect continues.

The car the suspect was in was stolen out of Albuquerque sometime in December detectives say they have several person’s of interest and are working on executing warrants to find out more.
