ROSWELL, NM (KRQE) – We learned a recent surgery has kept the 13-year-old wounded in the Berrendo school shooting in Roswell, in the hospital.
According to a family member, Kendall Sanders recently underwent another surgery. Sanders was hit in the shoulder and arm after police say a 12-year-old classmate opened fire in a packed gym this week. Sanders is in satisfactory condition.
The 12-year-old boy who was the most badly hurt in the Roswell school shooting – is now breathing on his own. The family of Nathaniel Tavarez spoke out for the first time yesterday saying he’s an amazing fighter. An uncle says the family has no ill will toward the accused shooter Mason Campbell, or toward the Campbell family.
